What you get. Your directory is hosted by Broadleaf Computer Services on our server, which is maintained at a secure, remote location. Access to your information is protected by member password. You may require members to log in to use the directory. Broadleaf Computer Services provides the disk storage for your directory. When you sign up, you will be given a link to your start up page. Just click the Activate button and your directory will be created. Configure the colors, fonts and background to your liking and start entering members.

We have some experience with on line directories, such as LinkedIn and directories offered to the on-line community, and we know why they are not appropriate for many organizations. First, these on line directories depend on the members to participate in uploading and maintaining their own information. Many members of church groups, service clubs, etc. don't want to, and will not, get on line and upload their information. So you end up having to have an administrator, who would need the password of any record that needs attention. This is a problem. Second, many groups want to control the content of their directories to make sure it is appropriate. Again, one or more administrators would be needed. Third, it is desirable to have a quick search of one or more sub-groups to find the members of say, committee A and committee B and send them an email.
